Stuck utilities after upgrading

Mac Pro stuck on macOS Utilities screen after attempting to update to High Sierra. I’ve tried to restore, reinstall restart etc.

I may have to follow up after getting a few more details. What year is the Mac Pro? How did you first try to update? App store or .dmg download?

When you tried restoring, was it a restore partition already on your MP, or did you download online from holding Command + R and choosing the WiFi option? Are you able to navigate anything in the utilities or is the MP completely frozen. Does the mouse move and can you click on anything?

Try resetting the PRAM and see if that fixes anything. That's turning the MP off, then holding Option + Command + P + R as you turn on the MP and wait until you hear the chime a second time.

Also try resetting the SMC. Unplug the MP and leave it unplugged for 15 seconds (you can also press the power button, but I'm not sure if that's necessary). Then plug it back in and wait 5 seconds before powering it on.

If it seemed to update correctly, hold the Option key as you turn on the MP and see if there are more than one OS listed in the boot menu.
