Why is the Message app on my iPhone so slow?

the iphone messaging app takes a while to send messages and sometimes doesn’t send anything at all while different messaging apps work completely fine. been happening for over a month so it’s not internet. signed out and in of apple id. went to apple store to fix it they reset it still doesn’t work.

Messages app crashing after iOS 26 update Soon after I updated to ios 26, I was not able to access my recently deleted or spam messages. Everytime I went to press them, it would crash the app. Spent an hour talking to two different Apple representatives. Restarted my phone 5 times and reset my phone 3 times, and the issue was still there. Now, I can't even open my messages app without it immediately crashing. I just updated to 26.01 and the issue is still there. I can't even send a text message without it kicking me out. Couldn't even chat in with Apple Support again.
