Photo app won’t import from iPhone anyone out there fixed this?
Try using the app Image Capture that's in the Applications folder. It is often more forgiving. If it works, I'd import to the Finder and see what the pictures look like-- there may be corrupt files that are causing the problem.
Is your Photos Library on an external drive? Photos for Mac cannot import photos on macOS 14 Sonoma, if the Photos Library is on an external drive, and the file system format of this drive is incompatible with Photos, typically, if the file system format is ExFAT and not APFS or MacOS Extended (Journaled).
If the library is on an external drive, you may want to check the file system format.
Same problem. Apple Photos recognizes my iPhone, and shows the preview images of pictures on the iPhone to be imported, but when I click on "Import All New Items", the window changes to the "Imports" album pane, but the system does not complete the importing task.
This has only started occurring since I downloaded the most recent OS 14.6.1 update.
Macbook reads the phone. Photo app reads pictures (after I turn on and off airplane mode). I hit import all new photos and nothing happens. No error message nothing. Thanks for your help.
You will need to explain more about what your phone is doing.
Is your Mac Photos application not seeing your iPhone when you connect it?
Does it see the phone but not any photos?
Does it see some photos but not any new photos?
Does it see some new photos but not offer to import them?
Does it offer to import them but not start importing when told to start?
Does it start but give an error message?
Does it just stop without giving any error message?
Also, what version of macOS and iOS are you running?
