icloud verification issues

On my Windows machine, the iCloud dialog box keeps popping up... don't know why. I keep dismissing it, but it keeps popping up. I then decided to click on Account Details. It immediately without warning wants a verification that pushes via notification to all my devices. My iPhone is sitting in front of me unlocked, the notification box comes up and immediately goes away. Tried several times to "resend the verification", but it keeps closing on its own. So, I told it to send me to my mobile number. I enter that code and it wants to verify AGAIN. So, it sends the push notification which again goes away right away. I have now entered 4 codes via text message, but the thing is just stuck in a loop.


Ironically, I was able to log in to this site and it sent a push notification that I was able to use. So after typing the above text, I tried to check account details on the iCloud app again and the push notification dialog box on my iPhone comes up and immediately goes away.


I wanted to restart the iCloud app, but when you right click on the icon in the system tray, it does not give you the ability to exit iCloud. I had to bring up task manager and end process on the service. Not sure why it's not working.


Now, I am logged into this site as I mentioned before in the 2nd paragraph, but I see a message at the bottom of this web page saying welcome to the Apple Support Community. "Sign up". I am signed in. When I click on "Sign up", it asks for my user ID and password. Which I give it and then it just loops back to this page with the same message at the bottom.
