Battery doesn't acknowledge charger unless I constantly fiddle with settingss

My 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 MacBook, when I put it on any charger, will just show the plug icon and not the usual lightning bolt zapper icon. I am constantly fiddling with this setting(energy saver mode) and then it finally shows charging. Can be a pain if you get really low and it takes 3 minutes to finally gaslit the machine into charging. I tried resetting SMC as well with same result. Battery says normal. This really only started happening due to one of the following:

-Sonoma update

-Crowdstrike Falcon security crud making my CPU go bonkers but thats not really new but they certainly are

That blocky device that plugs into the wall is the POWER ADAPTER. I am not trying to be a jerk about terminology, what these boxes do and how they do it is essential for understanding how they all work together.

The CHARGER is inside the MacBook Pro, and is completely under program control. Your Mac accepts some power when needs to run, and accepts more power when intends to charge its internal battery. A power source like the Power Adapter can not 'force itself' on your MacBook Pro. Only the algorithms inside your Mac can decide when is a good time to charge the battery.

you may need to 'club it on the head'. On an Intel Mac, we would do this my invoking an SMC reset. But Apple-silicon Macs do not have an SMC, so it cannot be reset.

The closest we have to that is to shut down your Mac By choosing Shut Down off the  menu, and wait for everything to calm down, about a quarter minute.

Then double-click the power button. (this is as close to a deep reset as we get.)

Your Mac will probably start up during this process, and that is expected, but we would hope it is behaving better after that.

Ok fine.

When I put the adapter in, and the COMPUTER is connected to the adapter the CHARGER is not charging the BATTERY even when the battery registers imminent shut down. So the SOFTWARE is not recognizing a low charge and refuses to allow CURRENT to go into the charger, hence DEFEATING productivity. This is unless I go into settings and confuse the LOGIC to then accept the charge
