Card verification using a landline

My bank issued my debit card using a landline. The bank said that after it has been activated they can’t change the phone number. Apple Pay wants to verify my new card. It’s trying to send a text. It doesn’t give me any other options. What can I do?

Call the number printed on the back of the physical debit card. Tell them you no longer use that line and need to have your >primary phone number< changed to, and give them the number you want to use. It may take several days or longer for their servers to all sync. However, in my experience, it usually updates in a few hours.
