After hearing a lot about the efficiency of the Safari Browser I tried using it for first time and it shows Google. I am new to iPhone; therefore, I don't know if this is how it works. Can someone clarify please?

Are you referring to Google, the search engine? If so, you can change your chosen search engine at Settings - Safari - Search Engine = Here you can select Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, Yahoo or Ecosia.
