The iPhone 7 Plus cannot update to iOS 16 or later, no matter how much you want to run the "big App." If you need or want a phone that will run a later version of iOS, you need a newer iPhone – preferably one that will be compatible with iOS 18 when iOS 18 comes out.

You can update an iPhone 7 Plus to the latest release of iOS 15.

You cannot update it to iOS 16 or later.
