Can I always keep my MacBook Pro plugged in?

battery charging tips..can we keep our macbook plugged in all the time?

The computer and battery both have "smart systems" to prevent overcharging so, yes, you can leave it plugged in.


However, I like to run my old Macbook Pro on battery about once a week. An Apple tech document, written before the Great Dumbing Down of such articles at the Altar of Minimalist Design stripped out many details, recommended using the computer on battery about once a week to, as it said, "keep it exercised." I have, and it still gives usable runtime after 11 years and lots of travel! Pretty amazing.
