Memory Processes Excessive, Slowing Application

I am running a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), Processor: 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 Memory:16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Running macOS Monterey Version 12.7.6. I am attempting to edit video and only have Final Cut Pro X running. However, the memory seems to choke when attempting to import high res files. I can't even get to then point of using Proxys or optimized transcodes. When I check Activity Monitor, it is running over 375 various processes. This seems excessive and could be the reason for the memory choking. With 16GB of Memory, it should be handling the video with much more ease.Any idea how to evaluate unnecessary processes and delete without harming the system. I have MacKeeper that show processes that it says it cannot delete with being detrimental. Please help!
