Sorting photos

I organise my photos within event folders using sequential numbers. If I add photos with a different date/time (such as sent to me by friends) I add them as 101a, 101b etc. I thought all this would ensure the photos would be listed in the order I had created. When I choose sort by title this sort of thing happens. Any thoughts?

Are you including this in the Title field in Photos?

Alphabetizing numbers can be weird. 1, 10, and 100 may appear together before 2-- but not in all alphabetizing systems. In general, I use 001, 010, and 100 and so on, keeping the same number of digits.

I also insert intermediate pictures using 013a, 013b, etc, as well. Sometimes you just have to play around to see how the sorting goes, and adjust.

By the way, I use Photos Workbench ($30) to batch change titles. It also has find and replace to change all the

" 1 " to "001 ", for instance.
