Wrong Apple ID in AppStore on my child’s iPad

Every time my kid (5 y.o.) tries to update an app on his iPad, it requires sign-in to my (his parent’s) account - not request for approval, but literally signing in, as if it is my device - although the device is signed in to his own account. I need it to require approval to buy apps and update apps without asking anything.
