Trading in an ipad to a store after buying on line...
I have purchased an Ipad online at the apple site and rather than ship the ipad to trade to apple, can I simply return the trade in to an apple store?

If you have initiated the trade-in during an online purchase, the trade-in must be returned using the shipping materials that will have been sent to you. You will typically receive the shipping kit a few days after you receive your new device. If you fail to return the trade-in as directed, the trade-in will be cancelled - and you will be charged the full un-discounted cost of the new device.
Otherwise, you can trade-in a qualifying device at an Apple Store while making an in-store purchase. If you are not making a new purchase, the trade-in value will be returned to you by way of an Apple Gift Card - that may be redeemed against a future purchase from Apple.
