"Show Hidden Photo Album" is always grayed out on Macbook Pro

The View > Show Hidden Photo Album is always greyed out on my Macbook Pro. I am able to hide photos and have hidden photos in the past, but I am unable to ever view any of my hidden photos. For all intents and purposes, hiding a photo deletes it from view in my Photos app.

Have you checked, if the Hidden album is already visible in the Sidebar of Photos?

Only then the command "View > Show Hidden album" will be dimmed. Is the sidebar visible, when you open Photos? If not, make sure you are not in Full Scree mode. then enlarge the Photos window as large as possible, if the sidebar is still not visible.

Which system version is installed on your Mac?

Are you using macOS 13 Ventura or later, where the Hidden album may be password locked? See: Hide photos from view in Photos on Mac - Apple Support (CA)
