Apple Pay stopped working on iPhone 15 Pro Max

Iphone 15 pro max new phone

apple pay worked for few weeks only then stopped working for sll my four cards from 3 banks.

I have opened cases with banks and master card and visa but they gave statted no issue on my cards

I have multiple cards from different banks all of them same issue which is could not add card( card not added please contact your card issuer.

findings;

I have found that Apple is using a device trust score to judge its customers ( i have the proofs in screenshots) and my banks all of them are saying the same reason that my device trust score is very low, which is why Apple is refusing to add any cards despite this is a new phone and new new account and I’m having all the security features required on my phone plus it’s official phone bought from apple in United Arab Emirates where I stay

troubleshhooting steps done :

i bave spent more than 20 hours thru different calls with apple support and spent2 months on my own trying to fix it.

I have also went to apple shop in UAE abu dhabi and they could not help

I have updated my phone to latest update 17.6.1

I have done network reset and removed most of my apps

I have also disabled lock and enabled again

I have sign out if apple id also

I have reseted my network amd factory defaults settings as well

Also i restored my phone to factory software thru my pc and tried to use apple pay with out backup restore my data but it didnot work.

I have tried the same cards on different phone and its working on other phones

The banks are saying that your phone will never work so you have to replace .

I have spent multiple hours with Apple Support with mire than 15 calls but no luck they keep saying nothing wrong.

I need someone to please to assist me to reach a very high-level of Support and Apple to fix this issue or somebody can help me to find a way to reach the higher management to complain about this so I can replace my phone iPhone 15 Pro Max

There is no level of Apple Support that can resolve the issue. Apple does not verify your information, your banks do. Your banks are not permitting your cards to be added.

Apple provides some information about your Apple ID, Apple App Store and iTunes usage, iPhone location and usage of iPhone. The information is supplied anonymously. As part of the Apple Pay terms and conditions you agreed to share the information with your banks.

Apple applies specific guidelines about adding cards, but banks can bypass some of them if they provision the card on their own secure website or mobile app.

Your cards are being Red Flowed or Red Pathed and the banks and or Payment Network Operators (Mastercard, Visa, etc.) are rejecting your cards. Ultimately, the bank needs to issue a token or instruct a Token Service Provider to issue the token and send it to Apple Servers to be added to the Secure Element on your iPhone.

No one at Apple can change the information your iPhone contains. If your banks issue the Token, Apple will add it.

My best advice is to do nothing for 35 days or so. Trying to add even one card, may reset the clock and the 35 day wait starts again. During the 35 days carry the iPhone with you, use it for emails and messaging, web browsing etc. Make sure you are logged into your Apple ID Account, iTunes Store and App Store.

I have just one question. Do you use a VPN or ever had VPN software on your iPhone?

I’m happy to answer any of your questions.

The bank operations department told me that they consider apple trust score s a condition to allow the device to enroll in apple pay, they have stated that all the banks around rhe world now using this score which is 1 in my case, they informed me to contact apple to change it to 4 or 5 at least so it can work, apple support sre denying the trust score saying that there no such a thing and we do not calculate any score

Here are the factors I’m aware of that cause a phone to be Red Flowed (declined).

Card is not activated, card is expired, card marked lost or stolen. This is one of the more frequent causes as when a card is replaced, the lost flag for the account is not removed by bank or PNO.

Account is inactive (dormant)

Leaving a card in the provisioning state and not completing the process. Sometimes referred as disabled tokenization.

PNO indicated high risk. This might be related to fraud alerts on your account.

Network issues during process. Many times this can be related to past or current VPN usage.

CVV number entered incorrectly.

Account number (PAN) does not match CVV number.

Lastly, the information Apple shares as noted in Apple Pay & Privacy article that I linked to above. After about 35 days, if the iPhone shows more normal usage patterns and behaviors your and you’ve fixed the issues with the issuing bank and PNO the card may be added to your Wallet.

That’s not true, device score is primarily for apple pay and transactions, resource below:

if your device’s trust score is particularly low—perhaps due to significant security concerns or recent suspicious activity—Apple might temporarily block the addition of your card.

The device trust score could potentially impact your ability to add cards to Apple Pay, but it typically does not outright block you from doing so. Instead, here’s how it might work:

1. Impact on Adding Cards to Apple Pay

• Low Trust Score: If your device has a lower trust score, Apple might require additional verification steps before allowing you to add a card to Apple Pay. This could include providing extra information, verifying your identity through a different method, or entering a code sent to your phone or email.

• Unusual Activity: If Apple detects unusual activity on your device—such as an unexpected change in location, a significant alteration in device settings, or other behaviors that deviate from your normal usage patterns

You’re assuming facts that aren’t in evidence. Apple Trust Score is in regard to Apple App Store, not Apple Pay. If you have any articles that state otherwise please link to them.

>>We also compute a device trust score on your device when you attempt a purchase using information about how you use your device, including the approximate number of phone calls or emails you send and receive. The submission is designed so Apple cannot learn the underlying values on your device. The score is stored for a fixed time on our servers.

At all times, information collected by Apple will be treated in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy, which can be found at www.apple.com/privacy<<

No where in that document is a Device Trust Score mentioned. That’s all information that Apple discloses. I linked to it so that you can see what is shared.

What your bank told you sounds like part of their requirements or information and requirements from the PNO.
