The Magic Keyboard with Touch ID requires a Mac with an Apple Silicon chip. Your iMac 27” uses an Intel chip; it is not compatible with Touch ID.

Fingerprint Problems with iMac Pro My Mac is a iMac Pro with 8 Core Xeon, running Sonoma 14 iOS. I am using an Apple keyboard with Fingerprint sensor. fingerprint readers work with Macs? I have my MacBook Pro in a raised and I use a separate keyboard. The only this I need the Mac's keyboard for is the fingerprint button, and it's quite a stretch. I'd like to find a fingerprint reader than can be plugged into a cable from the computer. THere are plenty of them but they all say they are for Windows. Are there any that work with the Mac?
