I'm unable to connect my AirPods to my Nano 7th Gen?

I have a Nano 7th gen and trying to connect my everyday airpods with the lightening connector. However, I can not get sound. The unit works using 3.55 aux headphones. Have searched for a reverse dongle (receives lightening on one side and male post aux to connect to Nano but no one has those. Am I correct that the sound does not filter through lightening into airpods?

Do you actually mean EarPods? AirPods are Bluetooth headphones and don't get connected by any cable. The Nano 7th gen does support Bluetooth.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a new set of headphones with the correct end rather than to try to find a dongle. The dongle are always a weak point.

Yikes! Thanks for catching that!. Still looks like they won't fully support the Apple AirPods though.

It is my understanding that AirPods are designed to work with devices running iOS 10 or later, utilizing either the W1 or H1 chip for easy pairing and features like automatic device switching. The 7th generation Nano, while supporting basic Bluetooth audio, does not have the same level of integration or software compatibility as these newer devices.

So, my guess is even if you might be able to pair the AirPods for basic audio playback, you would likely miss out on advanced features like automatic ear detection, battery status display, or quick switching between other Apple devices. Additionally, pairing might require some manual intervention each time, as the AirPods aren't optimized for the Nano's Bluetooth setup.

I trust your guess on this.

But I think the OP was actually talking about EarPods. They mentioned a 3.5 jack, cables, and adapters. Or they're trying to connect AirPods using a cable?
