Installing a Printer on a Mac:
A. Password to Install a Printer:
It ought to be asking you for your user password. What password is it asking for? It might be for this app? Or, if Screen Time is enabled, you'd have to go through the person who enters the password.
B. What's the Model of your Printer?
Be wary as to where you get the drivers. Get them from the Developer and none other, elsewise, you may end up with a scam. If there are no drivers for your Operating System, then you need to move on and purchase a new Printer.
IMPORTANT:
C. Back Up your Mac, First: Prior to making any major changes to your Mac (i.e. printer installs and updates) always be certain you create a Time Machine backup of your Mac. That way, you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong from then on out.
