How can I delete empty reference titles in the Music browser?

Using the music browser I have chosen several audio clips to delete, located them in the finder and moved them to the trash, then emptied the trash.

When I return to FCP the titles of the clips are still in the music browser.

When I choose one of the empty titles this message appears at the top of the browser list:

“THE SELECTED ITEM’S FILE COULD NOT BE FOUND.”

I control+click on the empty clip title to see if I can move the title to the trash, but only “reveal in finder” appears and of course it is no longer is in the finder.

I have restarted the computer and trashed FCP prefs, but the empty reference titles still appear in the Music browser. How can I delete these empty reference titles?

NOTE: I am using FCP 10.7.1 on a 16" MacBook Pro, 2019.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

If I understand correctly, the problem is that you deleted the files in Finder, but not in Music. As long as they apple in the Music library (where they also will give a file not found error) they will appear in the music browser in FCP.

Locate these songs in the Music application, and delete them from the library there.
