Will deleting photos from an album mean that they will permanently disappear from “all photos”?

Somehow, I managed to put 4,406 photos from “all photos” into one album. How can I correct this?

An album contains no actual image files; it just contains links to the original photos in the Photo Library. When you delete a photo in an album it just removes that link, it doesn’t actually remove the photo from the library. So you can safely delete photos from an album. To convince yourself, delete a photo from the album, then see if it is still in the library.

One of the side benefits of how this works is you can have the same photo in more than one album.
