Display shows duplicates of everything on my MacBook Air

my display is showing double of everything and I cannot close them

Ghost Image, Perhaps:

It may be a hardware issue, but, before making that assertion, see if this is a Ghost Image. You can try using screensaver to fix it. Go Here: Avoiding Image Persistence on Apple Displays - Apple Support. View the third subtopic: Fixing image persistence
