connecting old keyboard to new Mac
I'm trying to connect my old wired Apple keyboard to my new MacBook Air. I'm using an adapter to plug the old USB cable into the new Mac, but it's not picking it up. Any suggestions?

Ok, this keyboard came out in 2007 (& discontinued in 2017) and supports the USB 1.1 or 2.0 standard with a USB-A connection type.
In theory, the Anker adapter you are using, should work.
Have you tried connecting it to all available USB-C ports on your Mac? Do you have, or can use another's Mac that has USB-A ports that you can try out this keyboard with? ... or one with USB-C to test out both the Anker adapter & keyboard?
Which exact model is your "old wired Apple keyboard?" Which exact adapter are you using to connect it to your MBA?
It is an Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. Looks like model # is MB110LL/B. The adapter is Anker brand, USB to USB-C. Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried both ports and neither are working. I'll try and do the other things you mentioned. I may have to break down and get a new wireless keyboard.
