Pls Help… Maybe Virus on Iphone 11

Ermmm…. so I accidentally clicked on a pop up ad while trying to close it. And a pop up with a red timer said I had been infected with a Trojan horse and to download this vpn app. I panicked and was naive and clicked on it and it took me to the Apple App Store so I was like “I can probably trust an app on the App Store” and I downloaded it (I know I’m so stupid… I’m sorry:(( )I opened the app but didn’t know how to use it so I deleted it. And started to research. Some people say iPhones can’t get viruses some people say that’s a lie. But I know for sure that pop up was probably all a lie. Is there a possibility of me opening and downloading the app could have infected my phone?? I cleared all safari data history, turned off my phone, updated it, but I don’t want to factory reset it because of important photos, notes, etc… Pls help me, I love my phone:(((
