I have an older vehicle that has Bluetooth but only works for calls, it does not support audio streaming. I am able to use a USB cable and plug into the iPod port and play Apple music. Am I hurting my battery health by doing this though? I just got a new iPhone so I don't want to hurt the battery health unnecessarily. TIA

Everything you do on your iPhone will deplete your battery health. Batteries are consumables. Things you want to be concerned about are draining the battery complete, especially if you leave it that way and overheating it. Both can do permanent damage. Streaming music is not a big deal is not going to deplete battery capacity any more than most things.
