Texts going to broken ipad

iPhone 8, iOS 16
On your iPhone, go to Settings>Messages>Text Message forwarding and remove your iPad.

As IdrisSeabright said, remove forwarding your iPad text messages. In the meantime, you should schedule a visit to have your iPad fixed: iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support
