How do I disable the unlock animation on my iPhone 12 mini?

whenever i unlock my phone my lockscreen background looks gets a bit bigger as if it was popping out a bit. i really dont like this and want to disable it. ive only realized this now and i feel like i never realized this until today. i just updated my ios to 17.6.1 yesterday but i don't remember this happening. id rather not turn on the reduce motion setting since it disables other features i like. it happens with both my wallpapers where one changes on lock and the other is static
