Apple tv first generation
i have had the netflix app since i got this apple tv and all of the sudden it deleted the app off my tv and since its old i can’t download any ideas why?

- Yours is likely 2nd or 3rd generation [A1378, A1427, A1469], as those have recently lost Netflix.
- Netflix ended support for these legacy models per July 31, 2024. Therefore the app was removed as well, as it wouldn’t be functional anymore. (It would have been announced inside the app for a while.) Initially Netflix said for about a month prior: “(!) Netflix will no longer be available on Apple TV (2nd generation) and Apple TV (3rd generation) after July 31, 2024.” (Tech journaling websites have reported this per June 5.) And now Netflix says: “NOTE: Netflix is available on Apple TV HD (4th generation) and later.”
- The solution is to buy a more modern streaming device. Consider Apple’s current model.
