Apple Watch Series 7 battery draining significantly fast following software update to watchOS 10.6.

Following a recent software upgrade of my apple series 7 watch to watch0S 10.6, my watch battery has started to drain significantly. Prior to the upgrade, a full 100% charge on the battery would last me an entire day. Following the upgrade, my battery has dropped from 100% to 83% in one hour. My iPhone is also on the latest iOS version (17.6.1). Anybody else experiencing the same and if so, has a fix/repair been identified?

What is required is a forced restart of your Apple Watch. A forced restart is more than just turning your Watch off and on. It’s normal after an update for increased battery consumption for a day or two. The Watch has to organize a lot of changes in the background and this can lead to the battery be drained much quicker.

Since there is no improvement after a day or two you’ll need to unpair the Watch from your iPhone, force restart the Watch and the iPhone and lastly pair the two devices again. Battery usage will return to normal in 24 to 72 hours after completion of process.
