SOS and No Sim ???

Hello Everyone , my iPhone 12 Continues to go right back to SOS and No Sim displays often within minutes of getting it out of that mode , usually by toggling airplane and cellular switches back and forth then turning the phone off for about 15 minutes , and sometimes I will also remove the sim tray and card , and very gently brush against the metal contact side of the card with a soft cloth made to wipe your eyeglasses , blow into the card slot as hard as I can repeatedly and then very gently wipe the tray with the same cloth used on the metal contact side of the card , make Sure the card is seated completely and then Very gently put the card and its tray back into the slot on the side of the phone body !!! I am disabled ( thank you Iraq ) and I live alone but that still doesn’t begin to explain the importance of the NEED which I have to rely on my phone constantly every day !!! Could one of you Intelligent Brainiacs Please assist me ASAP ???

Thanx ; Derek

Sorry to hear you are facing such a frustrating issue again and again.

Am no expert in this area, yet your request certainly deserves some response.

Apple Support's online article: Status icons and symbols on your iPhone - Apple Support

says:

"If you see SOS in the status bar:

SOS might appear in the status bar of your iPhone or iPad. When you see this message, your device isn't connected to your cellular network, but you can make emergency calls through other carrier networks.

The feature of SOS appearing in the status bar of iPhone and iPad is available in Australia, Canada, and the United States."

Seems it is a disconnection issue with your cellular network.

If you click the second link above, you can fully troubleshoot the issue, by working through the steps in the other article that appears:

else:

You may want to try updating your iPhone's iOS version to the newest available:

(Eg: See if an update is waiting for you to download : Settings > General > Software update)

(NB: It is wise to back up your iPhone data first, if an update is available.)

or,

(if already updated to the newest version) restarting your iPhone may re-establish the connection:

See how to: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Hey Brbo , I want to think you for your kind words to assist me … I finally got my I phone 12 out of SOS mode about 4 days ago ( although I had already purchased an IPhone 14 Plus , the day before ) !!! lol !!! But I wanted to thank you , I know that was on an older feed that I was on ( have never asked for help on a message board before , had pretty much lost touch with technology about 15 years ago but my daughter has been pushing me to get reacquainted again ) but you were the only one to reply to message asking for help and I wanted to take the time to Thank You ; Derek

Hey Brbo ; Derek again … Well as I had stated earlier I did get my I12 out of SOS and No Sim screen notifications but I am sorry to say that it was short lived !!! One morning I just powered it up and stunningly the notifications were gone and everything operated as it should have , it worked fine for about 4 days with absolutely no problems at all , then just as before the notifications were on the screen again and I haven’t gotten it back out of lock mode to save my life , not 1 time in about 2 going on 3 days now , Luckily my I14 should be here tomorrow or the next day … I am So Over this issue , I noticed that I have seen so many people asking for dire help as was I about this issue from people Everywhere with Every different type of iPhone on the market for Several Years Now , and the question is Still Elusive !!! I guess the best thing to do is to go straight to the Bars , yes plural , the Drinking Bar and then the Apple Bar !!! Good Luck to you All !!!“ Derek “
