No, your watch counts on arm movement for step accuracy. I use recumbent exercise machines and often a walker. Here are the tricks I've learning over time:
- Place the watch in a side pocket, ideally over the hip while exercising,
- Or place the watch in a cross body purse to capture steps. Make sure you place the purse over your hip,
- Finally, If I am inside, I will often place the watch in my sock. There, it will capture all of my steps.
Please keep in mine that while these methods are good for capturing steps, they will skew any data that counts on the back of the watch actually making skin contact. I find them to be good, though imperfect solutions. Good luck!
