Bulletproof DMX interface fo Macbook Air

I work in theatre, mostly operating lights via a Lighting desk and sound on QLab. What I'd like to do i have a stripped down touring setup in a bag. Essentially QLab and Lighting software. But I'm finding that the inconsistency with Apple interfaces (Frightening hub constructs to add basic functionality) means I cannot find a DMX interface that runs reliably with my chosen software.

For example. QLC+ Works with my Enttec Pro, My Enttec Open, My Smartshow USB DMX, However it is not very intuitive to programme.

QLab can run lights but only with the Enttec DMX Pro but agian is uninutive to programme and has a 60/40 connection rate.

I found an App called footlights on the Appstore which is fantastic, has an inutuitive interface, no bloat , and has OSC control, but the 2 Enttec devices only appear intermittently and it has never connected to a fixture.

Enttec talk about removing and installing FTDI drivers, but if QLC+ works in discovery and operation, it cant be the drivers but the individual software's implementation.

So, If anyone knows of a 100% reliable DMX interface pure plug and play no faffing around with teminal. I would be eternally grateful.
