All genuine Apple Products have serial numbers. You can find your AirPods serial number when they are connected to your iPhone and in Bluetooth, click the more info button to see the serial number.
Go to Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support and enter your AirPods serial number, you will be able to get more information on them.
If you still cannot verify if your AirPods are genuine, go to an Apple Store and the Technical Specialists there can verify your AirPods.

Serial numbers are routinely copied, so finding Apple coverage information based on any serial number means that there’s one legitimate device with that serial number, which can share that same serial number with zero or more copies of that same serial number. And there can be lots of copies.
Copying an entire device involves some effort.
Copying valid serial numbers is comparatively trivial.
With the AirPods Pro 2nd gen above, having all three expected audio modes (transparency, adaptive, noise cancellation) and having MagSafe charging work on the case probably means the AirPods Pro are real. Otherwise? Probably not.
Hello~ As *Ikrupp* points out if you bought them from anywhere but Apple or an Authorized Apple reseller they are likely fakes or stolen. Even if your check the coverage by serial number here…

There is big business in peddling these fakes and these thieves have become very sophisticated in doing so. They even use serial numbers that correspond to “real” AirPods.

From where and from whom did you buy them? If anywhere but directly from Apple or an authorized Apple reseller the chances are good they are counterfeit or stolen.
A few thoughts on this topic:
I’m sure some of my colleagues could chime in with more thoughts.
Hopefully, this answers your concerns, Centaures_80. 🙂↔️
