App Store will not return to Home Screen.

Hi, I have this problem with my daughter’s phone, and have been scouring these threads for a solution. I really appreciate the many clear and concise replies on these threads with instructions that actually make sense. That being said, I have tried ALL of them. Completely removed all screen time restrictions on her phone, (allowed downloading apps) etc, not in App Library or spotlight search. Not blocked in Siri search settings, restarted, updated. Reset Home Screen. . . Everything short of full factory reset.

Did that already, still didn’t come back.

If you tried resetting the Home Screen Layout, my next suggestion would be to back up the phone then restore it to factory settings. Check for the App Store. If it's there, restore your backup and check again.

Ideally, you would do the restore to factory settings using a computer, not iCloud. When you do that, it downloads a new copy of iOS.

You cannot delete the App Store. Swipe all the way to the left to reveal the App Library and type in “App Store” to add it back to one of your Home Screens. If it’s not there, check Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > Installing App.

If you truly have tried all the other options you stated, try a full factory reset with a back up. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Erase all Content and Settings. Remember to back up your device before so you will be able to load back your data when the factory reset is complete. How to factory reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

There are multiple reset options. Resetting to factory settings does not delete any data, just changes all settings back to their default.

No, that's Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset All Settings. It's not restoring the phone to factory settings. They are VERY different. But semantics aside, try the instruction I just linked to. Back up first, of course.

Before considering doing a factory restore or erasing all content and settings, I suggest resetting the Home Screen Layout. Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. While it will remove any folders you've created, it will not delete any data or remove any other customizations. It will return the factory-installed apps to where they were when you first activated the phone. Third-party apps will be alphabetical.

Ok, so I finally bit the bullet and did it. Wiped her phone. Erased all data. . .
finally got it all set up again and signed into her Apple ID to restore everything.

Did you test it before restoring the data? If it was there before you restored the data and missing afterwards, that would suggest that there is a problem with her data.

Does she have any school or work accounts on the phone?

BTW, when I reset the Home Screen id did bring back all of the standard apps just like you said, except the App Store 🤦🏼‍♂️

Still not in App Library or showing up in search results. Screen time setting remained the same. Downloading. . . All enabled.

Did you do this:

The only place on her phone that I can even find a reference to the App Store app, is in

“Settings”,

there is an App Store tab right above

 â€śwallet and Apple Pay

This has a tab for

“Siri and search”

which has options for both

“Show app in search”

and

”Show on Home Screen”

both of these are enabled.

It still does not show up in search results, and is not on the Home Screen or in the App Library.

When I ask Siri to open App Store, it comes up with a notice for “unsupported URL”

When I go to the App Store website, ad tap the “open the app” tab it comes up with “invalid address”

Now what?

Factory reset?
