Can I use a Samsung power bank with apple products?

I recently bought a Macbook Air and I would like to know if I can charge it with a Samsung power bank. Thank you!

Charge your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro - Apple Support

Recent MacBook Airs support charging over USB-C and over MagSafe 3. So some questions to ask about this power bank would be

  • Does it support charging over USB-C, using USB-C Power Delivery? (USB-C PD allows negotiation of more power than USB-A host ports traditionally supply or than USB-A devices traditionally use.)
  • Can it provide a high enough wattage to charge the MacBook Air at a reasonable rate? (The current crop of MacBook Airs ship with 30W and 35W power adapters.)

I don't know the answers for Samsung power banks, but you may find the following article of interest.

Hello! My Samsung power bank has 2 usb-c ports and 1 usb-a, 20000 mAh and up to 25W charging. Does it work?

I don't know. 25W is less than any of the standard MacBook Air power adapters supply, and the New York Times writers said that they required each power bank to support an output of 30 watts or higher.

The same article said that a capacity of 20,000 mAh (the capacity of your power bank) is enough to charge a M2 MacBook Air at least once. So if your Samsung power bank supports USB-C Power Delivery, it might work.

You may want to ask Samsung.
