Google Chrome crashing when trying to start it on my macbook

I had a problem, when I couldn't start Google Chrome, it crashed immediately after starting it.

I seen a post where lots of people are asking how to fix this even with quite recent comments, but with no actual steps to resolve that, I wanted to reply to the same thread with what I've found, but unfortunately I couldn't reply - I wonder if it is because I'm new user to this community?

So I resolved it by deleting directory: ~/Library/Application Support/Google

I hope that my tip will resolve issue for everyone else who experience the same issue.

I'm guessing the Chrome profile became corrupted. I have encountered that a couple of times with Vivaldi (based on Chromium browser engine). The last time I was able to move/rename the last session files which allowed the browser to open again while retaining all my bookmarks & settings (other than the open Windows & tabs when I last used the browser....small price to pay).

Threads are automatically locked after a certain period of time.

Edit: I also now utilize multiple profiles in my Vivaldi browser, so when Vivaldi launches I am presented with a screen to select which profile I want to launch. This should keep me from being completely locked out of the browser giving me time to later figure out the issue with the corrupted profile. I don't know whether Chrome has these features or not.
