short codes from banks not coming through to iphone 12 IOS 17.5.1

Have confirmed with carrier, tmobile that short codes are not blocked.

Can get phone calls from banks but not texts for id verification codes.

Have checked settings/messages/ and bank text number is not listed as blocked

Have checked bank app settings and nothing has changed, looks OK

Haved tested 2 banks and neither bank's short code texts are coming though to my iphone.

The problem is a setting on my iphone but I don't know what else to do?
