When I reboot my Macs, Safari always opens with all of the now-obsolete tabs from the last session.
I'd like to be able to have it open 'clean' with just my selected Homepage.
The only setting I can find which should relate to this is below, which doesn't really help at all...
Am I missing something?
Any suggestions?

If you change Apple menu > System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Close Windows when quitting an application to On, then there are additional options in Safari > Settings > General > Safari opens with. The additional options are "A new window" and "a new private window."

It defies the "it just works" motto, with nine actions required in two different places, but it certainly does the job - I would never have found it - thanks!
