Iphone no longer has the speaker icon

I no longer have access to the speaker icon in my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I restarted it several times and then I saw there was an ios update and I updated it to ios 17.6.1 and it didn't make any difference.

I notice there is a triangle shaped icon which alows me to cast to my TV or use my headphones, but nothing to use my phone. It automatically goes on speaker when I play music or anything else for that matter, apps such as Spotify don't have the speaker option either! So it's either headphones or speaker!!!

Is this by design? How can I get the icon back if it's not by design?

You mean the volume bar in the picture? Speaker icon on the left means "lower volume", speaker icon on the right means "higher volume".

Or do you mean something else?

Again, what did this speaker icon do specifically?

What can't you do currently?

is this what you mean the microphone in messages for me is gone. And every time I opened an app(messages, safari bubble) it recorded everything that was being said around me without touching anything??
