Orange speaker icon

how do I make the orange speaker icon at the top of my iPhone go away

That dot indicates that there is an app currently using the microphone. You can find out which one by looking in the Control Center. Note that, while you are on a phone call, that dot will always be there as phone calls require the use of the microphone.
