How do I remove a persistent floating listening icon on iPhone?
I've somehow turned on a floating listening icon that I can't remove. I can't take a screenshot but I did use another phone to take a pic of it.

That’s the Live Caption setting. You can turn it off in Settings > Accessibility > Live Captions.
That’s the Live Caption setting. You can turn it off in Settings > Accessibility > Live Captions.
You might see the culprit in Control Center.
Access Control Center on your iPhone - Apple Support
If that doesn’t help, try Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings.
It’s called Live Caption.
add the control for it to your control center, then you can toggle it off.
had never seen or heard of this until my cousin asked for my help with his phone.
figured it out.
enjoy

Thanks, I did do a reset in the control center but that did not work.
When you open Control Center, you should see which application is using the microphone displayed near the top.
Have the same problem. There is not option to remove it, anywhere that I have looked. The accessibility is using the microphone, and All of the toggles that were even close to something I might consider audio or microphone use, are turned off. Still right here, all the time. Bout to sell this and get something else. This is so aggravating since it’s literally in the way, multiple times per minute, I’m swiping it one side to the other. Maddening. MardiM, did you get this figured out?? Any tips would be appreciated. If completely resetting the device is the only way to fix it, I gotta find a different option for devices, cause I can’t trust this manufacturer. Apple, I was about to buy a desktop, am I gonna have some listening software pop up on a Mac that I will be stuck with forever?
Tried to screenshot it, but the tab/window will not show up in the screenshot.
Thanks, I did do a reset in the control center but that did not work. I may have to reset the iPhone. Thanks for replying.
This is impossible, they won't change it. I also hope that iOS can turn off the display of Chrome playback content on the lock screen
