How can I disable the Compass screen on my Apple Watch Ultra 2?

since a few days, earlier this week, my Apple Watch Ultra 2 has the compass screen on all the time. And I cannot find any setting or manual modification in my watch or iPhone to prevent the compass screen to automatically activate itself. Anyone having had this situation before? Grateful for any advice on how to get rid of this behavior as it is disturbing. Otherwise all other watch functions I use regularly seem to work as usual. Thanks!
