How to connect an car play to my iPhone 15

I have a BMW X3. I have followed all instructions, including resetting the car and the iPhone, using the correct USB cable to try connecting without the Bluetooth etc. Still no way to use CarPlay. Appreciate any help.

If you’ve followed all the typical steps to connect CarPlay and still can’t get it working, here are a few more steps I suggest that you try:

  • Ensure CarPlay is Enabled on your BMW.
  • You mentioned this, but be sure that you have the latest BMW iDrive and Apple iOS software running on both your vehicle and your iPhone. You should check with your BMW dealership if you can't download the latest iDrive version.
  • Reset Network Settings on your phone: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
  • Forget Car and Reconnect: Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, and forget yourX3. Then, reconnect it either via Bluetooth or USB cable.
  • Make sure you're using the correct USB port in your BMW that supports data transfer. Some ports only charge devices and won’t support CarPlay.
  • Even if you're using a certified cable, it might be worth trying a different one to rule out a cable issue.
  • If all else fails, you might consider performing a factory reset on your iDrive system. This will erase all personalized settings, so back up any necessary information first.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, it might be worth visiting your BMW dealership to have them take a closer look.
