Are you sure you haven't accidentally swapped Pencils with somebody else with a different model? The magnet and charging arrangements are somewhat different.
If you are sure that this iPad used to hold this Pencil and charge it, take them both to an Apple Store to be checked out.
Same here! About a month ago I noticed my pencil stopped charging, for a month since it hasn’t gone above 17% and it almost never leaves the side of my iPad. Talked to a local IT tech for Apple products, told the pencil has a 18-24 month lifespan on the battery. Mine is 3 years or more, so bought a new Pencil Pro yesterday. Arrived today, won’t connect. The magnetic band almost seems to repel the pencil for a moment, and will loosely connect higher or lower than the usual mount points. It’s like one magnet has reversed polarity to repel. When it does the connect, the pencil sits at the volume button, 1/4” higher than normal. Weirdly enough my old pencil is now shows 100% charged after 24 hours off the iPad…
Pencils also have different engraving formats of my name so I know for sure they’re mine and which is which.
