Magnet on iPad lost polarity

My iPad will no longer hold the pencil or charge it . How can I fix this

Same here! About a month ago I noticed my pencil stopped charging, for a month since it hasn’t gone above 17% and it almost never leaves the side of my iPad. Talked to a local IT tech for Apple products, told the pencil has a 18-24 month lifespan on the battery. Mine is 3 years or more, so bought a new Pencil Pro yesterday. Arrived today, won’t connect. The magnetic band almost seems to repel the pencil for a moment, and will loosely connect higher or lower than the usual mount points. It’s like one magnet has reversed polarity to repel. When it does the connect, the pencil sits at the volume button, 1/4” higher than normal. Weirdly enough my old pencil is now shows 100% charged after 24 hours off the iPad…


Pencils also have different engraving formats of my name so I know for sure they’re mine and which is which.
