Can't save scanned document to Desktop

I am running Sonoma 14.6.1 on a 2023 iMac. I have a Brother printer and scanner connected via WiFi. When I use the Brother iPrint & Scan app, I can scan the document successfully but can't save it to my desktop. I get the error message "Access denied. You don't have permission to save files in this folder." The app has full disk access. However, in Privacy & Security > Files and Folders the app is there but is grayed out. I have spent hours on chats with Support and also on calls with them. Have tried reestablishing permissions. Desktop > File > Get Info shows that I have read & write privilege. I can save a scanned document to my desktop using System Settings > Printers and Scanners. It has more process steps but works.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. I tried Select Folder. I used the Desktop as the folder and it worked. Initially using Desktop as the default got me the error message. But by selecting Desktop as the folder I think I have solved my problem.

Thanks again.
