Should I update iPhone to iOS 17.6.1 even with reported issues?

I’m considering updating my iPhone 14 Pro Max to iOS 17.6.1, but I’ve heard that some users are experiencing problems such as green or distorted displays after installing this update. Given that such issues could potentially affect the functionality of my device, I’m concerned about the risks involved. I want to ensure that the update will not cause significant problems with my phone’s display or overall performance. Should I proceed with the update, or would it be better to wait for further feedback or additional fixes from Apple? its 4.31 GB update

Don't do it for now. Like most updates, it is good to wait 30 days until any bugs could get worked out. I have had a discussion with Apple since I went to 17.6.1 on my Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and a problem with using the email app at all. They've also have bugs in other programs. I had Apple remotely log into my iPhone Friday and do a diagnostic and they told me they know they have problems going on right now and they expect an update beyond 17.6.1 soon. So, wait a bit because 17.6.1 was also a test trial for iOS 18's upcoming release. On Friday, August 16 Apple told me their update would be out by Saturday but it hasn't happened yet so we all just have to be patient.

I updated today with the iOS 16.6.1, now I can't send text to non-ipnone users. Was on apple chat help for about an hour with no success. Still can't send text to non-iphone users.

Sending messages from iPhone to non-iOS users is a carrier provided feature. First when you were on the chat with Apple surely they had to you go to Settings > Messages > and made sure SMS and send as MMS were both turned on? And if they are on, then you likely need a carrier update and they should have advised you to contact your carrier for help.

Wow, what an over exaggeration. iOS 17 has been one of the glitchiest iOS releases in my experience. I’ve owned Apple devices since their initial release of the iPod. This update is the 1st time I’m considering moving off of Apple devices. Apple development seems to have entered a period of malaise. Then again NOT A SOUL is having any real issues, right. Willing to bet your house on this 🤔

For 2 weeks I have battled a serious security breach in which my complete identity and network has been compromised, while having little to no support from apple. Admittedly I made a mistake to allow access into my socials however this escalated from poor handling on behalf of apple with 3 devices using this program locked after reconfiguration via remote access. As I am waiting on a call back from apple but not holding my breath I ask this, is it acceptable to allow loyal customers fall victim to such cyber attacks to protect to branding of your product?
