Blurry Camera on iPhone 12 Pro Max at 2.5x Zoom

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with the camera on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. The problem occurs when I use the zoom function at 2.5x and above. The image becomes blurry, and I hear a loud, frequent clicking sound coming from the camera.

The camera works fine at 0.5x and up to 2.5x zoom, but as soon as I go beyond 2.5x, the problems start. Given this, I suspect it might be an issue with the telephoto lens.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think this could be a software issue, or is it likely a physical problem with the camera? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm pretty sure I replied to your first post on this. What I said was what you've describes would indicate a hardware issue with the camera (as you suggest, you hear a loud clicking noise) and you need to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar, likely to have the camera replaced.
