Texting between iPhone and android unreliable

My 7 sibs and I have a text thread where we share info. 7 of us have iPhones, 1 has an android. I live in a remote area with weak to non existent cellular signal. Sometimes but not always, my texts won’t go thru or I will not receive some of the texts on the thread. WiFi is enabled on the android. Why?

iPhone 12, iOS 17

This is due to you having a weak to non existence cellular data signal, which is required in order to send an MMS.

MMS is your phone carrier feature, that you pay them monthly to use, reach out to them to find a solution.
