3 pin plug gets hot while charging.

my new ipad gen 10, 3 pin plugwhich came along with the package gets hot while charging. Is this normal or should I be concerned.? It is not warm, I mean “ hot”

It is not unusual for an iPad or its Power Adapter to become warm (or very warm) when being used or during charging. High screen brightness and/or CPU intensive Apps will also create more heat. The key point is that whilst your iPad and Power Adapter may become very warm in normal use, neither should become uncomfortably hot to handle.


If you have any concerns, you would he well advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.


Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to offer assistance:
