Severe Battery Drain on iPhone 13 After iOS 17.6.1 Update

Hello everyone,

I recently updated my iPhone 13 to iOS 17.6.1, and I’ve been experiencing significant battery drain since then. Before the update, my battery performance was stable, easily lasting through the day with moderate usage. However, after updating to iOS 17.6.1, I’ve noticed that my battery is draining much faster than usual.

Here are some details:

• Battery Health: Still shows around 90%, so I don’t think the issue is with the battery itself.

• Usage: My usage habits haven’t changed significantly—mostly social media, messaging, and some light gaming.

• Background App Activity: I’ve checked background app refresh and disabled it for most apps, but it doesn’t seem to have made much of a difference.

• Location Services & Notifications: I’ve also limited location services and notifications to essential apps only, yet the problem persists.

• Battery Settings: When I check the battery settings, it doesn’t seem to pinpoint any particular app as the culprit for the excessive drain.

I’m wondering if anyone else with an iPhone 13 (or any other models) is experiencing similar issues after the iOS 17.6.1 update. If so, have you found any solutions or workarounds to improve battery life?

I’ve tried restarting the phone, resetting settings, and even a full restore, but nothing has helped so far. I’m hoping Apple will address this in an upcoming patch, but any advice in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!.

I am having exactly the same problem.

It’s been 2 weeks since I am having this problem and I have tried almost everything but nothing has worked so far.

A help from apple would be well appreciated.

Hi,

There was a correction update of the 17.6.1 (21G93) version. The latest version is also called 17.6.1 (21G101) few days back . However, all those who have downloaded the „old“ version will not receive the correction version on their smartphone. Check this in your settings, under general. The correct & latest 17.6.1 (21G101 ) version can be downloaded via iTunes. Maybe this will fix some problems.
